Gaze on the fresh-faced members of San Francisco's Countless Others,
and you'll be forgiven for expecting sweet pop to pour from the
speakers when they take the stage. But you'd be wrong, daddy-o -
these kids rock out with fuzzy, feedbacky, garagey style. They may
work "Hey-hey-heys!" into their choruses, but there's
a Black Lips-ish groove steering every song (minus the Lips' peeing-on-the-crowd
thing, thank goodness). A new band that's been gigging like crazy,
it names Klaus Kinski and Werner Herzog among its influences - and
still manages to be hella danceable. How can you not love a band
that features a guy on maracas? --Cheryl Eddy, San Francisco Bay
