Danny Allen plays guitar, sings and writes songs. Laura Allen plays keyboards and sings. Our first EP was recorded at our home in Oakland to tape on 8-track, knobs turned and buttons pushed by Danny. Most everything on the recording is an acoustic instrument--Harmony and Stella guitars, toy piano, real piano on 'Stormy Weather,' kazoo, hand claps (gotta have hand claps), and whistling. We used an old Univox drum machine on 'Laugh, Cry, Etc' and 'Stormy Weather.' The rest is us banging, clanging and shaking tambourines, water bottles, and floor toms. We set out to make something sparse, taut, and about the songs. We hope you like 'em.
